It's going to be hard to choose just one pic per day, but I'll try!! And I promise they won't all be off the sun and the sea!!
Sunday 24th March
Welcome to Lanzarote....we were on the road for 12 hours, but it was worth it to leave the snow and cold, and get to the sun and warm :)
Monday 25th March
Today we walked to the seafront and had a look around - after booking LOTS of trips that is, in fact it was the only day we had to ourselves with nothing planned!! This is how sunny it was (not actually a picture of the sun though!!)
Tuesday 26th March
Today we went on the 'Blanket Tour' - a free trip were they try to sell you mattresses and sheep's wool bedding - we were good and didn't buy anything! But then they take you to some lovely places - we visited Casa-Museo del Campesino y Monumento a la Fecundidad (that's where the picture is), and Puerto Calero (where I saw no celebrities despite it being bigged up as Millionaire's Marina!)
Wednesday 27th March
Today was basically Cesar Manrique day - we did the Northern Delights tour and visited some of the natural wonders of the island Manrique developed into tourist attractions (so they didn't ruin too many places!) First up was Jameos del Agua (above) and then Cueva de los Verdes. Basically 2 parts of a 6km long tunnel formed by a volcano! And then we visited Mirador del Rio (aka the viewpoint of the island) where you can see panoramic views of Lanzarote and La Graciosa - but typically on the day we visited all we could see was cloud (well we were in the middle of it!)
Thursday 28th March
The turn of Rancho Texas - zoo with added swimming pool!! We thought the 6 hours we were given would be toooooo long, but we didn't stop!!! Lots of animals and shows to see, but of course my favourite was the owls in 'La Opera' section where they played the Harry Potter music (simple things, simple minds I know!!)
Friday 29th March
We visited Puerto del Carmen today, and found a little cafe right on the sea front, basically situated on the top of the rocks, called 'The Place'. I had to have one photo of the sea didn't I?! And it is beautiful!!!
Saturday 30th March
Last day :( We visited the market in the old capital of Teguise - lots of the same old tat on offer, but lots of music too - ABBA on the panpipes seemed to be a favourite! This group formed in front of us as we were walking through and played, sung and danced - it was fab :)
Before and After
First day on the walk to the beach, and the last day waiting to be picked up!!
I did it!!! A photo a day (OK with 2 extras) - not bad from nearly 500 photos!!!
